Lukewarm

Revelation 3:13-18 “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”

We have man-made laws and we observe them. For instance, when we see the red light at the intersection, we press on the breaks to stop our vehicle. When the red hand shows up for pedestrians, they stop rather than walking across the street. Man’s law says you must put on your seat-belt as you’re about to travel in your vehicle or in an airplane. Man’s law also says that you cannot drink and drive. Those are man’s laws and we obey them. If we don’t obey man’s laws, we receive a fine or we’re asked to show up in court to explain our actions before a judge or jury.

However, when it comes to God’s Law, His holy and eternal Ten Commandments, then the majority of the Christian world rejects it. On YouTube, I read comments from Christians who say that Jesus Christ kept the Law for us and as a result, we don’t need to or that the Law of God is a curse or that Christians who keep the Law of God are legalistic like the Pharisees.

To Christians who reject the Law of God, why do you apply the law of man who is mortal, but reject the Law of God Who is the Almighty, immortal, all-knowing, and perfect God? Would you not want to obey your Lord, God, and Saviour instead? Did not Abraham keep God’s Commandments according to,

Genesis 26:5 “Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”

Did not Paul keep God’s Law according to,

Acts 24:14 “But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:”

Romans 8:7 provides the answer as to why lukewarm, Laodicean Christians reject God’s Law: because the carnal mind is an enemy against God because it isn’t subject to His Law, neither can it be.

Romans 8:7 “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”

Those who claim to be followers of Christ, yet reject God’s Law, are void of the Holy Spirit of Truth. The Law of God is truth according to,

Psalm 119:142 “Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.”

Psalm 119:151 “Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.”

However, the unbeliever’s minds are carnal, and they detest God’s Law. If they had the Holy Spirit abiding in them, or if they were truly born from above or born again as they are being led by the Holy Spirit, as per their claims, then they would want to keep God’s Commandments.

When I talk about God’s Ten Commandments, I’m referring to His Ten Commandments which He wrote with His finger on tablets of stone in,

Exodus 20:3-17 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.”

I’m not talking about the 600 ordinances of Moses, which, according to Ephesians 2:15 were nailed at the cross of Christ.

Ephesians 2:15 “Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;”

Allow me to quote you a few Bible verses that illustrate that God’s holy Law – His Ten Commandments – must be kept.

A prerequisite for being considered a child of God is the observance of His Commandments, which is mentioned in,

Revelation 14:12 “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

In Revelation 22:14, we read,

Revelation 22:14 “Blessed are they that DO his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

The verse does not say “Blessed are they that reject His Commandments” but rather it says “Blessed are they that DO His Commandments”.

In 1 John 5:3, we read,

1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

However, to the fallen Catholic and 501c3 Protestant churches, the Commandments of God are grievous to them. The Commandments of God are so grievous to them that they actively preach, teach, and rail against the keeping of God’s whole Law.

1 John 2:3-4 says,

1 John 2:3-4 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandmentsHe that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

In both verses, we read “keep His commandments”. It does not say, “reject His commandments” which lukewarm, Laodicean Christians are doing today.

In John 14:15 we read,

John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

To properly express our love toward our Lord Jesus Christ, He says we must keep His Commandments. He never says that to love Him means we should reject His Commandments.

In 1 John 2:6 we read,

1 John 2:6 “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”

Jesus walked according to the Commandments. Therefore, if we truly love Him and wish to obey Him, we ought to walk even as He walked … which means in obedience to the Ten Commandments.

In Romans 7:12, it is written,

Romans 7:12 “Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”

Since the Law of God is holy, just and good, then why are you, as Christians, refusing to keep what God says is holy, just, and good? If you are in the Spirit, you would want to please God since those who are faithful and obedient to their Creator have His Law written in their minds and in their hearts and they are His people according to,

Hebrews 8:10 “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:”

Hebrews 10:16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;”

Psalm 19:7 says,

Psalm 19:7 “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”

Since the Law of God is perfect and that it converts to soul, i.e. being born again, then why do lukewarm, Laodicean Christians reject the Law of God or make it void?

In Psalm 40:8, the psalmist says,

Psalm 40:8 “I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.”

The Law is within the hearts of God’s children as we just read in Hebrews 10:16.

This is a good example of the Old Testament pointing to the New Testament, both of which testify of Jesus Christ.

Romans 2:13 says that the doers of the Law shall be justified.

Romans 2:13 “(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.”

Since the Bible says that the doers of the Law shall be justified, then why do you consider the observance of God’s Law as legalism? To you, it is not legalism to apply man’s law, but it is legalism to apply God’s Law, His Ten Commandments, which define His love?

In Matthew 19:17, the Lord Jesus Christ says to the young rich man,

Matthew 19:17 “And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Again, we read “keep the commandments” or “keep My commandments”.

Why won’t Christians obey the Lord’s instruction to keep His Commandments? Why won’t they obey the Lord, God, Saviour and King they claim to love and keep His Commandments? Why do they have such disdain for obeying their God while claiming that they have faith in Him?

Your faith is demonstrated by your good works and your good works are the RESULT of your faith in Christ. James 2:24 says,

James 2:24 “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.”

Faith and works go hand in hand. Faith and works validate each other. Faith in Christ leads to doing good works. How can you claim to have faith in Jesus Christ when you reject His divine Law, which He asks us to keep if we love Him? If you refuse to keep His holy and eternal Ten Commandments, then how can you claim that you love Him if you reject His instruction in John 14:15?

In 1 John 2:4, the apostle John writes,

1 John 2:4 “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”

Get to know the true Christ of the Bible and obey Him because by rejecting His Commandments, 1 John 2:4 says that you’re a liar and the truth is not in you. As Christ says in John 8:11,

John 8:11 “She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

Stop sinning, or, in other words, breaking God’s Law. When you break God’s Law rather than keep it, you’re not loving Him.

Abide in the love of Christ by keeping His holy and eternal Ten Commandments and the love of God will abide in you. As Jesus Christ says in,

John 15:10 “If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”

In John 14:21, your God, King and Saviour adds,

John 14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

In the last two verses, John 14:21 and in John 15:10, Jesus Christ equates love with the keeping of His Commandments! He that keeps the Commandments of God in his mind and heart … and applies them … will live forever in His kingdom where the Law of God rules!

The Law of God provides love, peace, and security. And God’s love, which is magnified by His holy Ten Commandments, will rule His kingdom forever, including His 7th day Sabbath Commandment as per Isaiah 66:23.

Isaiah 66:23 “And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.”

These verses are profound in that they expose the lawlessness in today’s Laodicean Christians who claim to belong to Christ while at the same time live their lives in unloving rejection of His holy Law. If you reject the Law of Christ – His Ten Commandments – then you’re rejecting Him; for the Law of God comes from Him.

Please remember that you will have to give an account to your Lord, God, King and Saviour, Jesus Christ, as to why you neglected to observe His Law which defines His love when you chose, out of your own freewill, to remain in your sins when you lived on earth.

Matthew 12:36 “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.”

Romans 14:12 “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

1 Peter 4:5 (referencing those who live according to their own will, not God’s) “Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.”

You will be counted as part of the goats who chose to live in sin, and you will hear His words:

Matthew 7:22-23 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

Iniquity is another word for lawlessness or willful sin. Sin is the transgression of God’s Law. If you reject God’s Law, you will hear those words from Christ.

1 John 3:4 “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

On the other hand, Christ’s obedient children shall hear His words:

Matthew 25:34 “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”

Allow me to conclude with the words of king Solomon who was blessed with knowledge and wisdom from God. In Ecclesiastes 12:13, king Solomon says,

Ecclesiastes 12:13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

Brothers and sisters, it is your duty to fear your Lord, God, King and Saviour by keeping His Commandments with the guidance of the Holy Spirit of Truth. However, if you prefer to continue in your path of destruction through disobedience to Christ and His divine Law, you will receive the mark of the Vatican beast and as a result, you will receive God’s plagues, mentioned in Revelation 16, burn in hellfire and turn to ash … and you’ll miss out on eternal life in Christ’s everlasting kingdom.

Do you finally understand the gravity of your rejection of the Law of God?
