Never be afraid or ashamed to share your faith in Jesus and His Word.
Mark 8:38 “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
If, for some reason, the idea of rejection or losing relationships or getting hurt hinders you from sharing the Gospel, then your faith in God is superseded by your fear of people.
The Lord had already said that His Truth will cause division, even in the home.
Matthew 10:34-36 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”
With the breakdown of relationships being a guarantee, move forward with grace and joy, accepting the reality of which Jesus spoke. Move with the purpose of bringing souls to Christ, not the fear of rejection or abandonment. He also said …
Matthew 10:37-38 “He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”
To love Him above anyone and anything else is to fall into discipleship with Him.
Don’t fear losing people. Abandonment and rejection are simply part of life. With or without faith, people leave. Might as well be for a good reason, right? Let that good reason be that you love the Lord more than you love the company of those who don’t love you enough to stay.
Having the Lord is to have everything you could ever need.
