Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Though it’s difficult to understand, the Lord is always thinking good things toward us. His will is to prosper us, grow us, move us, and bring us closer to His side. And one of the ways we draw closer to Him is through ceaseless prayer and supplication, not just for ourselves, but for others as well.
1 Timothy 2:1, 8 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
As the Lord Himself has His thoughts toward us, we also have our thoughts toward everyone else, most especially the church family.
Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
The closer we draw to God, the more we pray to Him. It’s a natural consequence of love. Just as the husband and wife naturally desire to spend more quality time with each other, we, the Bride of Jesus Christ, naturally desire to draw ever closer to Him, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. So, our prayers become more frequent, more heartfelt, and more personal.
Yes, God’s people will pray evening, morning, and at noon, of course. But the more we fall in love with Him, the more our hearts yearn to speak with Him and be in His presence.
Psalm 42:1 “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”
Make no mistake … our Father wants to hear you. There is no such thing as bothering Him or taking up too much of His time. Any loving father desires to hear the familiar sound of his child’s voice rather than the voice that is heard only every once in a while. Moreover, our Father wants to hear your pains and sorrows as well as your joys and pleasures. He wants to hear your prayers of thanks along with your prayers of request. And as any parent knows, it’s fine when your child calls having a need, but it’s also so nice to hear them when they call to just say, “Hi. I love you.”
Psalm 8:3-4 “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”
Psalm 144:3 “LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!”
Every second of every day the Lord is sustaining us, guiding us, moving us, giving us His all. When studying the book of creation wherein we find the majesty, delicate touch, and loving work of the Lord, sometimes it is difficult to imagine that He sets His eyes on us.
At times, the realization of sin and the unworthiness of my own self has me trying to understand why He would ever look in my direction. How could such holiness look upon someone like me!? How could it be that the Lord would even consider me when I have done so many things against Him!? Even the prophet Isaiah, when in such a wonderful vision wherein he was blessed to see the Lord, said the following …
Isaiah 6:5 “Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”
So mighty was this vision that Isaiah was moved to see himself with complete recognition of how low he was in comparison to the holiness of God. And yet, the Lord chose him to perform mighty works and speak holy words. Not by any virtue or worthiness of Isaiah, mind you, but because of the greatness of God Himself.
Every second of every day, the greatness of God ensures that all our various needs are met. Because He IS love, and not one who simply experiences love, we can rest assured that no matter what we’re going through, it’s all because He loves us. His thoughts toward us are of peace and not of evil.
1 John 2:6 “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
Because He’s displayed His compassion, mercy, and grace toward us, as well as those who hate Him, His people will walk even as He walked. His merciful kindness toward us will be the merciful kindness we show toward others. Not just toward those who are of one mind with us, but also toward those who oppose the loving warnings we share.
Every second of every day He ensures that our hearts beat, we have clothes on our backs, our tears are dried up, our broken hearts are mended, and every other function of our bodies and the functions of the universe as a whole are in order. He truly is sovereign over all things. And we, His Bride, will do everything possible to make every second count in bringing glory to His name. He never wastes even a single second. Therefore, neither will those whose hearts are knit with His.
Ultimately, the way people treat others is how they treat the Lord Himself.
Matthew 25:33-40 “And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
A wasted second is a second that can never be returned. Every second counts. Every second is a blessing. Every second in an opportunity to know the Lord and to MAKE Him known.
The Lord loves us enough to warn us about what is coming. His mercy endures forever. When His love becomes our own, we are moved to warn others of the prophecies which are sure to be fulfilled. Not in an effort to scare them, but in an effort to bring them to the One who is able to reconnect the shattered pieces of their heart that it might be united with His own. We warn them because we love them … just as He loves them. We guide them toward repentance so that they might be saved from what’s to come.
Despite the persecution we will endure, we continue in the work the Lord sets before us because this is truly a labour of love.
1 Timothy 4:10 “For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.”
Hebrews 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
Look, quite a lot of people won’t be willing to receive the love you have to give … but most people are desperately deprived of affection. They have been silently screaming for a type of love they’ve never known. Their heart yearns to know what it feels like to be loved.
They have been hungry and thirsty to know what it means to be loved. They may not even remember what it feels like to receive a genuine hug, an open ear, tears that fall along with their own, or sincere compassion.
Don’t allow the rejection of a hardened heart discourage you from displaying the love of Jesus to all people. Just like with each of us, the tired and lonely soul will never know what love is … until they know Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:4-7 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
Now, of course, what is true love if it does not warn, correct, and do all the other necessary things which can bring others in line with the truth. Many will take the passage above to mean that since we are under grace, there is no necessary work to be done. Obviously, all who preach such a thing are under a great delusion. The following verses prove that they are in error and that there is great work to be done.
Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Corrections are hard to receive, and sometimes much more difficult to give. Take heart, however, because it is an act of love to both give and receive rebuke.
James 5:19-20 “Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”
The objective here is to carefully guide others toward Christ so they have a chance to repent and be saved. There is little time left, brothers and sisters. The return of our King is drawing closer and closer. The warnings of His ultimate arrival, along with the warnings of the prophecies being fulfilled as we speak, must take center stage in our lives.
Our lamps must be filled and trimmed at all times because, though we don’t know the day nor the hour of His arrival, we have been blessed with the certainty that it will happen sooner than anyone realizes. The Latter Rain is soon to fall, the counterfeit “Jesus” is soon to arrive, the MotB is soon to be enforced, the buy and sell is soon to come, the beheadings are fast approaching, the death decree will soon become law, and the first plague of Revelation will come to pass directly after that, and the date of its enforcement will be announced that as we know will be the start of the last 15 days of plague #6.
We mustn’t waste even a single second in bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to every soul He places in our path. Not a moment can be squandered in telling them of salvation through repentance.
Proverbs 18:9 “He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.”
None of us can afford to waste any time in bringing the prophetic truth to as many people as possible. As the Lord our God has never wasted even a single second in preparing us, guiding us, warning us, and loving us … nor will His people let a moment go by in which His name fails to be glorified, or His loving truth to go unspoken.
Yes, it will be tough at times to speak the truth that is needed; especially when it comes to correcting those we love. But the Almighty will provide every one of our needs and bless us with the strength we need at the perfect time in which we need it. As the poem goes …
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
Take heart, my precious brothers and sisters. The road ahead is treacherous, the battles are fierce, the enemy is cunning, and the temptations are great. Nonetheless, our Father is mightier than everything the enemy can throw our way. Through His infinite riches in Jesus, He has, does, and forever will, bless us with the strength and endurance to overcome everything … for His glory’s sake … and for our benefit.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
Psalm 115:1 “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.”
